What exactly is Kefir?

It starts life as some odd-looking ‘grains’ and a glass of cow’s milk. These Kefir ‘grains’ are, in actual fact, cultures of beneficial bacteria and yeast originating from the Caucasus Mountains. The ‘grains’ are added to the milk and left to ferment in optimal conditions. This allows the beneficial bacteria to thrive and leaves us with what we know to be gut friendly Kefir!

So now we know where is comes from, but what are the benefits we hear you ask?
